Dear Sankofa Friends & Family,
In 2019, after CM Brianne Nadeau wrote the bill to abate SANKOFA's disproportionate property taxes for 10 years, the outpouring of support was palatable. At the public hearing, 30 people testified (all in support), 100 people attended, 2000 emails in support were received by City Council Members.

Every email, letter of support, phone call to the council, testimony, personal presence at the hearing including the wonderful drummers and the babies, made the difference. Each vote, from the Business and Economic Development Committee to the Committee of the Whole, was unanimous – because they saw your support!
