About The Event
Join local author and historian Briana Thomas on  a guided presentation of the historic LeDroit Park community—and parts  of Shaw— as we spotlight the influential women educators, activists,  home owners, entertainers, and lobbyists who lived and played there  during the early 20th-century. Attendees will learn about Civil Rights  leaders Anna Julia Cooper, Mary Church Terrell, Mary McCleod Bethune,  Billie Holiday, and more HERstory makers.
