About The Event
Eugenia Charles is the Host and Executive Producer of Konbit Lakay, a socio-political Haitian radio program airing Wednesdays from 7:00–8:00 p.m. on WPFW 89.3 FM in Washington, D.C., a station of the Pacifica Radio Network. She also serves as Executive Director of Fondasyon Mapou, a faith-based organization dedicated to promoting Haitian culture, education, environmental wellness, and human rights. Ms. Charles is a political analyst and community organizer who draws on her professional experience to challenge negative stereotypes about Haiti, provide informed analysis on
the country’s conditions, and advocate for meaningful change. Ms. Charles has appeared on numerous local, national, and international media outlets, providing analysis of Haitian affairs. In addition, Ms. Charles is co-editor of the book Let Haiti Live: Unjust U.S. Policies Towards Its Oldest Neighbor.
