In a windswept Somali village, a newly assembled family navigates their different aspirations against the backdrop of civil conflict, natural disasters, and the constant presence of US drones overhead. A father, his young son, and his recently divorced sister each pursue their own quiet dreams while leaning on love, trust, and resilience to carry them through. Mo Harawe’s debut feature was the first Somali film ever selected for the Cannes Film Festival, premiering in Un Certain Regard in 2024. Shot entirely on location in Somalia with first-time actors, it has since screened at TIFF, MoMA, and Film at Lincoln Center.
