About the Facilitator

Sara Xavier is a literary researcher at the University of São Paulo (USP) and coordinates the Tereza de Benguela Reading Club at the Mário de Andrade Library, São Paulo’s famous public library. Her work centers on elevating Black voices across the Global South and promoting collective reading as a tool for healing, political awareness, and ancestral connection.


Her reading club prioritizes works by Afro-Latin American and Caribbean women and meets monthly in public spaces with a focus on accessibility and community belonging.
