About The Event

Dr. Lathardus Goggins II is an award-winning educator, social impact leader, and author. He is specialized/certified in Social Emotional Learning. He uses informed/ healing-centered engagement, restorative practices in and outside the classroom. An expert in using social emotional learning to bring the best out of his students, he has been recognized three times as a Faculty member who Made a Difference. With more than thirty years experience as an educator working with a wide variety of students, Dr. Goggins is a highly requested speaker and workshop leader. He has been responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (traditional and online), admissions, academic advising, community outreach, directing an Upward Bound program, student activities, programming, campus climate assessment, and setting campus policy on diversity and civility. He has managed personnel, office budgets, and strategic plans. He has also taught 5th - 8th graders math and science at a private urban school serving students identified as "at-risk." Throughout his career,he has been a leader in resolving conflicts with discretion, assessing campus climate, developing and implementing services, programs, and policies, and building collaborative relationships with community stakeholders.
