About the book
This book is my story. It is also the story of a woman in Kivu who were, at one point in time, victims of atrocities, but who decided to stand strong, while the world turned a blind eye to their tragedy, the most devastating since the Second World War, with at least 6 million deaths.
Justine Masika Bihamba was born in 1965 in Butembo, North Kivu, DRC, a country ravaged by endless conflicts for over three decades. Co-founder of the Women's Synergy for Victims of Sexual Violence, she tirelessly travels the world to challenge international bodies, defying their too often resounding silence.
