About The Event
Join the Egyptian Wanderer, Amr El-Bayoumi, in his unique photographic tales of adventure, curiosity and creativity. A wonderful, imaginative experience into what makes us all artists.
The Author
Amr El-Bayoumi was born in Alexandria, Egypt and grew up in East Lansing, Michigan. He is an actor, voice-over artist, photographer, lawyer, film producer, and filmmaker based in Washington DC. He has performed in several award-winning short films, feature films, theater and network television productions in the US, England, and Egypt.
Film Screening & Discussion
"The Visit", a short film by Indian-American filmmaker Vishwas; about an upside down look at present day racial prejudices, will be screened at this event. It will then be followed by a discussion on Arab and Muslim stereotypes, with the Author Amr El-Bayoumi, and his mother, Dr. Soheir Morsy.
Soheir Morsy ia retired professor of anthropology, who wrote extensively on the subject of Arab stereotypes and foreign and economic policies during the 1980s following the OPEC oil embargo, and a long time resident of Washington, DC.
