About The Event
About the Book:
Written by Dr. Melody T. McCloud, the ob-gyn who has cared for Civil Rights matriarchs, internationally renowned celebrities, and thousands of others, BLACK WOMEN’S WELLNESS is a vital guide for Black women everywhere. Unlike any other book on the market, it brims with information about many medical conditions, sexology, psychology, and pop culture. It addresses the healthcare outcomes, and their statistics, that disproportionately affect Black women and provides sage strategies to rise above that legacy. With the reliability and warmth you want from your doctor, BLACK WOMEN’S WELLNESS addresses what most other physician-authored books omit: the unique challenges Black women face, including microaggressions. With an “I’ve got this!” approach, this much-needed and long-overdue book will educate and motivate women to achieve their healthiest, most enriched lives. As Dr. McCloud says, “I offer this book as a Black female to be your one-stop reference on your personal quest to achieve total wellness, health, and happiness in every important aspect of your life... If we improve a Black woman’s health, we can improve that of her family and future generations.”
