ሂደት እና ያጋጠመውን ውድቀት ከተጠና ተጨባጭ እውነታ በመነሳት ፖለቲካዊ ትንታኔ ለማቅረብ ነው።
"ይህ የሰሜኑ የኢትዮጵያ ግዛት በኢጣሊያ የቅኝ ግዛት ስር ከመውደቁ በፊት ኤርትራ የሚባል ሃገርም ሆነ ኤርትራዊ ማንነት
እንዳልነበር ይታወቃል። በኢጣሊያ ኤርትራ የሚል ስያሜ የተሰጠው መሬትና ኤርትራዊ የሚል አዲስ ማንነት ያጠለቀው
ህዝብ የኢትዮጵያ አካል የነበረ ነው። በ50 አመት የኢጣሊያ የቅኝ ግዛት ዘመን በሺዎች የሚቆጠሩ ኤርትራውያን ከአድዋው
ጦርነት በፊትም ሆነ በኋላ ወደ ኢትዮጵያ በመጓዝ ከወንድሞቻቸው ጎን ተሰልፈው ጸረ የቅኝ ግዛት ተጋድሎ ማካሄዳቸው
በታሪክ ተመዝግቧል። በኢጣሊያ ቅኝ ግዛት ዘመን ኤርትራዊ ማንነትም ሆነ ኤርትራ የሚባል ሀገር አልነበረም።"
"ይህ መጽሐፍ ከነባራዊው እውነታ በመነሳት የኤርትራ ተወላጆች፣ ኢትዮጵያዊ ማንነት ለእነሱ ኩራት፣ ክብር እና መለያ
መሆኑን ተቀብለው እንዲመኩበት እና በኤርትራ በደቡብ ከሚገኙት ወንድምና እህት የትግራይ ተወላጆች ጋር በእኩልነት
የሚጋሩት ማንነት እንደሆነ እንዲገነዘቡት የማድረግ ዓላማ አለው። መጽሐፉ ኢትየጵያዊነት ለኤርትራ ተወላጆች የቅኝ
ግዛት፣ የጭቆናና ባርነት ምንጭ ሆኖ እንደማያውቅ ለወደፊቱም እንደማይሆን ያብራራል። የኤርትራ ተወላጆች ኢትዮጵያዊ
ማንነታቸውን፣ ታሪካቸውን እና ክብራቸውን ክደው በተሳሳተ ፖለቲካዊ መንገድ በመመራታቸው እንዲሁም ለወልደአብ
ወልደማሪያም እና ለኢሳያስ አፈወርቂ ርእዮተ አለም ሰለባ ሆነው በተፈጠረው ጦርነት ምክንያት ለእልቂት ተዳርገዋል።
በአሁኑ ዘመን ደግሞ በጫንቃቸው ላይ በተጫነው አምባገነናዊ ስርኣት ምክንያት ሰብአዊ ክብራቸው ተዋርዶ፣ መብታቸው
ተገፎ፣ ጥረው ግረው ያፈሩት የግል ሃብትና ንብረታቸው ሳይቀር በኢሳያስ ተወርሶ በሬሽን መልክ የሚመጸወትላቸው
ህዝቦች ሆነዋል። ይህ ውርደት ኢትዮጵያዊ ማንነታቸውን በመክዳታቸው የወረደባቸው ጦስ ነው።"
"ኢሳያስ አፈወርቂ ኢትዮጵያዊ ማንነቱን ክዶ አያውቅም፤ "እኔ አትዮጵያዊ አይደለሁም" ብሎም አያውቅም። ከጥንታዊቱ
ኤርትራ ጋር በተያያዘ እንደ ሃገርም እንደ ማንነትም ሌሎች እንደሚመኩት ኢሳያስ አፈወርቂ ሲመካ አልተሰማም። ስለ
አሁኒቷ ኤርትራ ግን እሱ እራሱ የፈጠራት አገር እንደሆነች እና ካለ እሱም ትርጉም የሌላት አገር እንደሆነች ደጋግሞ ሲመካ
ተሰምቷል። [...] ኢሳያስ የማንነት ቀውስ የለበትም፤ ምክንያቱም፣ የፖለቲካ ስልጣን ባለቤት ከነበሩት ቤተሰቦች በመወለዱ።"
ስለደራሲው ባጭሩ፣ 
የዚህ መጽሐፍ ደራሲ ረዘነ ሃብተ፣ ከ1974 ዓ.ም ጀምሮ በኤርትራ በረሀ ከጀበሀ ጋር በመሆን ታግለዋል። ወደትግል
ያስወጣቸውን ጉዳይ በመጽሐፉ ገፅ 195 እንደሚከተለው አቅርበውታል፤ "እ.ኤ.አ በ1974 ዓ.ም ወደ ጀብሃ አታሕሪር
ኤርትራ /የኤርትራ ነፃነት ግንባር/ ለመቀላቀል ወደ ትግል ሜዳ የወጣሁበት ምክንያት የደርግን አረሜኒያዊ ሥርዓት በመሸሽ
እንጂ ኢትዮጵያዊነት የባርነትና የባእድ አገዛዝ ምንጭ ነው ከሚል መነሻ እንዳልነበረ ግልፅ እንዲሆን እፈልጋለሁ። ይልቁንስ
ኢትዮጵያዊነት ለኤርትራዊያን የዜግነት ክብር፣ የመብት፣ የእኩልነት፣ የትምህርት ዕድል፣ ፀጋ ሃብትና የብልፅግና ምንጭ
እንደነበረ በዓይኔ ያየሁትና በህይወቴ ያጣጣምኩት ተጨባጭ እውነታ ነው።"
