About The Event
Lo Que Dijo La Gitana is an immersive production experience that includes a 75-minute performance (interweaving storytelling, poetry and song) and a multimedia exhibition.
Designed for an intergenerational and multi-cultural audience, it is an invitation to an intimate, unique and thought provoking experience. The performance feature original music and poetry by Gyzelle Garcia accompanied by a live band; Khalil Abdul-Wakeel on drums, Cameron Luchie on guitar, Beckett Milzan on bass and Jeremiah Awoseye on keys.
While the direct translation is "What the Gypsy Said", the connotation is What did the oracle say? The priestess? The medicine woman? It is an ode to the sacred wisdom women across different walks of faith, across space and time have shared with the artist and not just how they have informed her artistic life and work, but her healing journey as well.
