About The Event

Cashawn Myers is a husband, father, community organizer, farmer, and teacher. As a founding member of HABESHA, Inc. (Helping Africa By Establishing Schools at Home and Abroad) in 2002, headquartered in Atlanta, GA. Cashawn has served as Executive Director its inception. HABESHA’s mission is to cultivate leadership in youth and families through practical experiences in cultural education, sustainable agriculture, entrepreneurship, holistic health, and technology.


HABESHA’s success has led to the establishment of affiliate branches in Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC. The work of the organization has also been featured on television, radio, and print media throughout the US, Caribbean, and Africa. Myers currently resides in Atlanta, GA with his wife Shevon and 4 children (Kidane, Kefentse, Kamau, and Ila), and travels yearly throughout Africa and the Caribbean sharing his experience of sustainable agriculture and healthy living.
