About The Event
Dan Papa is the head technician and archivist at the Scribe Video Center, a hub for community-led filmmaking. Dan is a self-taught archivist who works with different motion picture and digital film formats. As an archivist, Dan oversees the preservation and digitization of all videos made at Scribe.
Join us for a five week program where we will discuss community-centered archival practices with those who are working to preserve Black audio-visual culture and cinematic traditions. Each week will feature a filmmaker, archivists, historian, or curator who directly addresses cultural preservation.
Every Monday from July 6 to August 3 at 6:00pm to 7:30pm we will gather in the bookstore of Sankofa to discuss, learn, and empower each other to support the archival fellowship hosted annually by Positive Productions Inc. We cannot wait to see you there!
