Eve L. Ewing is a a diligent reader and tireless writer, shaping public conversations in the hopes of building a just society.

Elizabeth Acevedo's poetry is infused with Dominican bolero and her beloved New York City's tough grit.

Join Sankofa Video & Books as Ewing reads from "Electric Arches," her debut collection of poetry, essays and visual art; and Acevedo reads from her book, "Beastgirl & Other Origin Stories." a collection of folkloric poems centered on the historical, mythological, gendered and geographic experiences of a first generation American woman.

After the reading, Ewing and Acevedo will sit down for a conversation between two artists about their unique perspectives on the storytelling and the world.
